eat, drink, and be married!

Join us at our reception for some drinks, food, and the celebration of us saying I DO!

We Both Swiped Right....

Our First Date

We spent our first date seeing quite possibly the worst movie ever made, Unfriended, at our college town's cinema, where we both cringed and laughed our way through until the end. Barely. We then went to our local coffee and ice cream spot, Winegars. We laughed the night away while enjoying our ice cream. Except, I was so nervous that I only had about 2 bites of my Mint Chocolate Chip before it turned into soup. You'd think I wouldn't be so nervous, since we had spent many days and sleepless nights talking and sharing life stories. I will never be allowed to forget the wasted scoop of perfectly good ice cream, which has been and will always be an inside joke. An inside joke that will last a lifetime.

The Proposal

06-26-21

We spent the last morning of our family vacation at Ocean Shores taking a walk together to the beach, with Maverick, from our hotel. Colt had been talking about how much he was looking forward to this peaceful walk with me. I, however, was on a WAY different page. I had been awake all night in pain because I was burnt to a crisp from the day prior. His parents made us breakfast and while Colt enjoyed his pancakes with a smile on his face, eagerly waiting to leave, I was wondering why he even woke me up. (If you have experienced me in this state, I'm sorry.) I was so confused why he insisted on going on this walk. The beach was going to look the same as it did the day before. We took one of the trails from the back of the hotel, where Mav excitedly dragged me the whole way, every twig slapping and scraping my burnt skin. I whined and complained every inch of that walk, Colt can attest to this. Now sweating and out of breath, he sat me down on this cute log where we stared at the water together, Maverick being happier than ever. Looking back at it now, it was absolutely picture perfect. Just when I was about to get up and leave because I was so cranky, I turned to see Colt down on one knee, asking me to marry him. In complete shock, I immediately apologized for how rude I was to him the whole walk there and then came the tears. He laughed while I was trying to pull myself together. I kept asking him if this was all real. To this day, I couldn't tell you exactly what wonderful, sweet, memorable words were that he spoke to me that day. I can say, however, I was much better company on the walk back to the hotel.
