We had an inauspicious start. Upon our arrival to GMS Rowing Center, I told Zoe she was kind of slow..... Despite the rough first impression, after a month of living and training together as teammates, we not only mended this initial rift but also became really close friends. We started dating in June of 2013, shortly after trying out for the USRowing U23 National Team. We have now enjoyed about six years of living, growing, and adventures together: from communal rower houses to our own apartments; from living, working, and training together, to living on separate continents to facing the challenges of grad school. From the first "meet the parents" encounters to the present, we have linked a beautiful tribe of crazy people, who we now have the pleasure to call our shared friends and family. After "walking the walk" of a committed couple for some time now, we have decided to walk down the aisle, and take some time to celebrate the life we are building together and the beautiful people who populate that life. We hope that you can join us!
Needless to say, when you propose with a spoon, you have the element of surprise on your side. Zoe orchestrated the proposal and crafted a playlist of our favorite songs. After a quiet Valentine's Day, capped with slow dancing in our kitchen, Zoe proposed by slipping a custom stamped spoon into a cup of tea.
