Vinny was in Indianapolis for his brother's high school all-star weekend. He reached out to his high school friend, Maddie, to go out downtown. Maddie just so happened to be Sam's teammate and good friend. She was not planning to go out that night, but she couldn't say no to Maddie (who never asked them to go to the bars). Sam is oh so glad she agreed to join Maddie because that's when she met Vinny. It didn't take long for a first date to happen, a few more hangouts and a trip to Gatlinburg (with Vinny's college friends) before they were dating and the rest is history!

Sam always thought she would know when Vinny was going to propose, but Vinny pulled off the perfect surprise. What Sam thought was just a normal Saturday hike with Vinny's brother, Sam, led them to the most picturesque view at the top. After Vinny had what Sam thought was an unnecessary "rest break" at the top (so he could figure out how to get the ring out of his backpack), he got down on one knee. Sam definitely said "are you serious?" (multiple times) as Vinny proposed. Already so happy, the surprise continued as both their families were waiting for them at their favorite brewery. Vinny pulled off the best weekend and they cannot wait for this next chapter together!
