Question

Is there ADA Access?

Answer

Yes, most of the property has paved walkways and ramps, which was one of the reasons we chose this venue. If you have mobility, functional, or accessibility concerns, please contact Vicki, and she will be sure to advocate for you.

Question

Is there onsite parking?

Answer

Yes, a small parking lot will have reserved spaces for individuals with access and function needs. We will also have reserved parking for the wedding party. Additional parking is on the property next to Grey Gables at the floral shop. There should be signage to direct people. We also recommend carpooling if you can.

Question

How should I get there?

Answer

You can drive, Uber, Lyft, or carpool. If you are planning to drink, please do so responsibly and have a plan for getting home safely.

Question

Will guests be able to view the private vow exchange and the first look?

Answer

No, this will be an intimate experience between the bride and groom with the photographer in the distance.

Question

Can I take pictures at the ceremony?

Answer

No, we will be doing an unplugged ceremony. We are hiring a professional photographer and videographer to capture the ceremony, and we want you to be present in the moment. That said, you can take as many pictures as you want before the ceremony starts and after the ceremony ends just not during the ceremony.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your children, but due to the nature of our celebration, we respectfully request that this be an adults-only event. Thank you for understanding.

Question

Do you have a hashtag (pound sign)?

Answer

Yes, we will be using #OlofsonWedding2025. If you are posting any photos, please use this hashtag.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Absolutely! We are still working on all the bar details, but there will be alcohol. FYI the bar is CASH ONLY. There is an ATM available. Our guests will also have complimentary water, lemonade, and coffee.

Question

Will there be a DJ or Band?

Answer

We went with a DJ, and guests are encouraged to request their favorite songs by their favorite artists. The DJ we have booked is JR Productions. Several explicit songs will likely be played throughout the night, so please be aware.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Well, in Oregon on November 1st, it could be anything from 85 and sunny to 35 and downpour. So prepare for it all. The venue allows us to have plans A and B to accommodate for the weather, so we will know when it gets closer to the date.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Most of our guests are local to the Portland/Milwaukie area, but there are a few hotels nearby if you are coming from out of town.

Question

Where will the ceremony and reception be?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be on-site at Grey Gables Estate. You will not need to worry about a shuttle or a change of location.

Question

What happens with the left over food?

Answer

All untouched food will be given to local first responders, and the touched food will be given to the staff if they want the leftovers.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Our registry can be found on our website under the “Registry” tab.

Question

When will I need to RSVP?

Answer

We will need our final guest count in by September 1st, 2025. Please submit your RSVP before 7:00pm on September 1st, 2025. Thank you for helping us get our head count into the venue on time. The RSVP page will go live after we send out the official invites.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Business casual is perfectly acceptable for this event.

Question

Will there be reserved seating?

Answer

Kind of… there will be reserved tables for close family and the wedding party, but other than that, it will be open seating, so make some new friends. We will have tables that seat ten people.

Question

Are guests allowed to wear white to the wedding?

Answer

We suggest thoroughly considering whether to wear white. If you decide to wear white to the wedding, the Maid of Honor will have a squirt gun full of red wine. So wear white at your discretion.

Question

Is there a smoking area?

Answer

Yes, there are three areas around the property where those who smoke can partake in that activity.

Question

Will the groom and groomsmen be getting ready in a boring closet?

Answer

No Way! We wanted the guys to have a cool room to get ready in and out of before the wedding, so they will hopefully have as magical of an experience as the girls in their getting-ready area.

Question

Can I still attend the wedding if I am not feeling well?

Answer

We ask that if you are feeling under the weather that you not attend our wedding. We understand that this may be frustrating and disheartening, but the best gift you could give us is taking care of yourself and protecting vulnerable individuals from getting sick.
