This date was chosen with purpose - the Winter Solstice is a day to celebrate the return to light, new beginnings, and the interconnectedness of the world. These themes are at the heart of this celebration and ceremony.
Street parking is available on Chestnut St, St Johns Drive, and the surrounding block. If specific accommodations are needed, such as handicap-friendly, please let us know.
Most of this event will occur outdoors in December, so your comfort is our top priority. Wear something that you feel fancy in, but also be warm :) Our color palette and décor will reflect the Solstice - dark blues and black with fiery highlights and metallic accents. Do with that theme what you will!
Guests may arrive as early as 3:30pm. Ceremony will begin at sundown, which is approximately 4:45pm on this day. Please plan accordingly. You can find additional details on the Schedule page.
While the papers to sign are the same, this will be a secular event focused on celebrating the life we built together over the past 8+ years, and the journey ahead. Many traditions you typically see at a wedding will be missing. We plan to have some signature drinks available with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available; if you have specific tastes in liquor or smoke, we recommend you BYOB. The guest list is intentionally kept small; there will be less than 20 guests present for the ceremony. When discussing the "big picture" for our wedding, we agreed that a large group was not our style, and would not allow us the quality time with everyone that we wanted. This was not intended to hurt anyone's feelings, and we hope to connect with others in the coming weeks to celebrate. This is also a child-free event - we will celebrate with those under the age of 13 at a future date.
While we are aware this ceremony is close to Christmas, there is no expectation of gifts. If you would like to show your support non-monetarily, ask us where we need help with setup, cleanup, food prep, etc. We would really appreciate it!
