For only $25 a person: With your ticket to this incredible place, you'll be able to explore all its facilities. Your self-guided visit will begin with a short film about Mazatlán. Next you'll hop aboard the Observatory's funicular, which was Elevator World magazine's Project of the Year award winner in 2021. Once you're on the funicular, you can visit a house-museum with 19th-century furniture. Another spot you won't want to miss would be the distillery, where a mezcal simulator is recreated. We also recommend stopping by the El Nido bird sanctuary, where over 70 species such as macaws, parrots, parakeets, flamingos, toucans, iguanas and turtles await. Some of the other highlights include the Cueva del Patrón, which is a former dungeon of the Cerro del Vigía, and the agaviarium. This desert garden is located in front of the largest natural lighthouse in the world. We recommend ending with some delicious aguachile and drinks onsite bar/restaurant.
With 325 steps and an over 500 foot elevation gain, this hike is a short and relatively steep hike. Once you reach the top there is an option to pay 10 pesos to access a walkway with a glass floor and take pictures whilw enjoying breathtaking views of Mazatlan.
Historic walking area, and the best places to dine like our favorite (Patio Escobedo).
