Question

What are the COVID-19 protocols I should be aware of?

Answer

The Welcome Reception space has a normal capacity of 300, and we expect less than 1/3 of that, so there will be ample space for physical distancing. Weather permitting, the rooftop will be open. Masks will be required except when eating and drinking. Food will be served at a server-attended buffet. The bar will be open for you to order whatever you like. Weather permitting, the wedding ceremony will be outdoors. Seating will be wooden benches with space for distancing. The reception will be under an open, large tent. Tables will be placed 6 feet apart. Masks will be required except when eating and drinking. Food will be served family-style. This page will be updated with any changes to policies or protocols as we get closer to the event date. This is accurate as of 3/20/21.

Question

Did someone say live stream?

Answer

There will be a live stream of the ceremony and speeches. We will make that link available to any guests unable to attend in person so that you can still participate from a distance. We completely understand the continued concern about safety concerning traveling and gathering. There is no pressure whatsoever to attend if you feel uncomfortable - we look forward to seeing you and celebrating with you in the future! As it turns out, we planned to have a live stream well before the pandemic anyway. As self-employed Millenial/Xennial folks, we get how much weddings can cost once you factor in potential time away from work, travel time, travel and accommodation costs, etc. You are invited to our wedding because we love you - not because we want to require you to incur a bunch of expenses. Please, even if you could not care less about COVID at this point, but your bank account can't take it, join us for the live stream!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

The deadline to RSVP is April 23, 2021. However, it is beneficial for our planning if you RSVP as soon as you can.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your kids, and we know you do too, but we want you to enjoy yourselves and have an afternoon off so the wedding will be adult-only, save for those family children who have specifically been invited. If you need childcare recommendations, please reach out to Sam directly, and she'll put you in touch with some excellent local resources.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Find our registry items and funds on the Registry tab of this website.

Question

What is the parking situation?

Answer

There are numerous downtown parking garages available for the Welcome Reception. If you are staying at the Hotel Monaco, the Welcome Reception restaurant is approximately 1/4 mile away, so that walking could be an option. There is ample free parking available at the ceremony and reception location, Pittsburgh Botanic Garden.
