FAQs

Question

Where is the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will be at St. John's Episcopal Church in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Question

Where is the reception?

Answer

Our reception (cocktail hour, dinner, and some dancing!) will be held immediately following the ceremony at Mamma Luca in Portsmouth. Mamma Luca is a quick 2 minute walk down the hill from St. John's. Come hungry! Dietary restrictions will be accommodated.

Question

Have you reserved blocks of rooms? Where should I stay?

Answer

While we do not have specific blocks, we have secured discounts for guests staying at area hotels. Please see the "Travel" tab for specific discount links to these hotels. For your convenience, several of these hotels are within walking distance of our venue. Our wedding is in downtown Portsmouth, which offers a huge range of hotels, inns, and Airbnbs. If you wish to stay outside of Portsmouth, there are many towns within a 25 minute drive of Portsmouth. We love Kittery, Dover, Durham, Newmarket, and Exeter. Our wedding is on a holiday weekend, so we do suggest booking accommodations as soon as possible.

Question

What's the best airport to use?

Answer

Boston Logan International is the closest airport (a 1 hour drive from Portsmouth). From Logan, you can rent a car or take the C&J Bus into Portsmouth. Feel free to text Sam or Nate with any specific questions about travel!

Question

What's the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail, but we'd love for you to dress up in a way that feels like you! Think dresses, suits, or jumpsuits, plus bold colors, fun patterns, and statement accessories if that's your thing. We'll primarily be inside for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner, but this is October in New Hampshire so cozy-cool layers and jackets are encouraged.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

We will have reserved parking for guests at St. John's (once at the church, you will be given a pass to put on your dashboard). You may leave your car parked at St. John's for the duration of the ceremony and reception.

Question

Can I come for the wedding and stay for the foliage?

Answer

Yes! October is a great time to visit New England, and the White Mountains, Green Mountains, and midcoast Maine are just a few hours from Portsmouth. If you want to extend your stay and are looking for travel recs, feel free to text Sam or Nate.

Question

Can I come for the foliage and stay for the wedding?

Answer

Sure, we love that.

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

Due to venue limitations, this is an adults-only event. We kindly ask that only those named on your invitation attend. Thank you for understanding!
