Megan and Sam met in a very romantic setting--the online confides of Tinder. Okay, so their introduction may not belong at the beginning of The Notebook, but the unconventional method did spark a lifelong relationship. Their first date was to Buffalo Wild Wings, and Megan's best friend was there to witness the entire thing (Megan wanted backup in case Sam was indeed a serial killer)! Thankfully, Sam was not a serial killer and the two quickly began dating! Their three year relationship has included numerous Netflix binges, a few beers, several vacations, and a lot of driving (the couple still lives two hours apart)! They are both very excited to continue the adventure and embark on a lifetime together!

While many have already heard the proposal story, here it is for anyone who might be curious! Sam popped the question on a cold December evening at one of Megan's all-time favorite locations: Candy Cane Lane. Megan had been visiting this Christmas light display since she was little, and it was very special to her. Sam insisted on walking through the display, despite the bitter cold, and Megan obliged. When they had walked down every street, Megan began to walk to the car. Sam objected, saying they should go down one more street. Megan thought this was ridiculous but she began to walk down the road, mocking Sam as they walked. The street only had one house with lights, so she did not see the point in walking down there. In the midst of her sarcastic comments, she turned around to find Sam down on one knee. He asked her to marry him, to which Megan replied, "Wait, seriously? I'm going to have to think about it." After teasing him, she gave an excited, "YES!" Once she had the ring on her finger, Megan's friends came out to congratulate the couple. Sam had invited them to take pictures of the moment and to celebrate with them following the engagement. This was perfect because Megan had said she would want them there if he ever proposed! Actually, if you would ask Megan, he planned this proposal better than she could ever imagine. She mentioned once that her dream proposal would be in the winter (check), around Christmas, her favorite holiday (check), pictures would be taken to document the event (check), and her friends would be there to celebrate (check)! He did a fantastic job with the entire thing! While the engagement was incredible, Megan and Sam are even more excited for the adventure ahead of them. They cannot wait to celebrate with their loved ones next June, and they are excited to see the plans God has for their marriage.
