Our eyes locked on a summery Sunday afternoon at the Fourways Farmers Market to celebrate a mutual friend's farewell. We remember that very moment so clearly! It didn’t take very long after we were introduced for us to start getting to know one another. We chatted, we laughed, we grabbed food, we got drinks, and before we knew it the day was over. Luckily Marco managed to convince Sam to give up her number before parting ways.

Two weeks of chatting turned into a six-hour date. A sushi dinner in Parkhurst (that turned out to be one of our favorite foods and meals to share), followed by coffee and we both ended off with a shot of a three-year-barrel-aged tequila (that became our celebratory drink for milestones).

Sam was kept late at work one Friday afternoon due to a “meeting” her father had scheduled so bizarrely late. Not only was Sam frustrated by this unnecessary meeting she was also asked by Marco to pick up pizza for dinner on the way home. After waiting for the pizzas for over an hour, Sam was getting hangry and exhausted and was ready to call it a day. Or so she thought. Sam arrived at their new home with the pizzas and as she pushed open the gate, MAGIC HAPPENED! There were lights, music, photos, carefully curated love notes leading Sam to find proteas, candles, and a handsome man in a suit. Tears, laughter, smiles, and a ring! That moment in itself was more than perfect! Of course, the answer was YES! Followed by champagne, dinner, a boma fire, and more lights... It was the most perfect winter evening! Five years of history leading up to this day in starting and sharing a new chapter.
