We met on a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel, connected, and started chatting. However, as anyone who has ever tried to get in contact with Sam knows, he is epically slow at texting. He waited so long to respond that our connection timed out and I thought that was that. Luckily, Sam didn't let it go at that. He used the power of Google to track me down and ask me out for coffee - an 8 minute date on Friday, January 13. Turns out, Friday the 13th is lucky for both of us!

After my sweet cousins unknowingly sabotaged Sam's first proposal attempt on the Millenium Force at Cedar Point (thanks Mal and Jess :P ), Sam decided to take advantage of a Mackinac Island trip we had planned the following weekend to pop the question. We rented bikes to explore the island and after hours of hiking, biking, and stair climbing to check out all the island has to offer, we headed up to the highest point on the island, Fort Holmes, which has gorgeous views of Lake Huron and the Mackinac Bridge. Sam asked a couple to take our picture to get the full view in the background, and then he got down on one knee and proposed! We're so excited to share this next step in our journey with you.
