As a millennial's fate would have it, they "met" on a dating app while both living in Dallas, Texas. After a few days of talking, Sam mustered up the courage to ask Leanna to get a drink - she swerved him. After they continued to talk, Leanna's calendar magically opened up. They agreed to meet for a beer (it was National Beer Day after all) at Truck Yard on a Friday after work. In what would become their trademark, they both showed up about 20 minutes late. Nervously, they got a beer and began to talk. One beer turned into two which turned into three and before they knew it, six hours and another bar later, they were still talking. While at Truck Yard, a complete stranger commented that Leanna and Sam "looked good together" and asked how long they had been dating. Leanna quickly informed her that it was their first date. But this confirmed what they had already been thinking - they found comfort in one another.
Leanna's Version: What was supposed to be an innocent sister's weekend in Austin with my big sister turned into one of the best weekends of my life. Friday and Saturday went by without any suspicion or hints. We decided to get our nails done together (nothing out of the ordinary for us). I did think it was a little odd when Amy pushed for me to get a manicure too, but I let it go. Then on Sunday we planned brunch with one of Amy's friends who also lives in Austin, while Sam went "golfing". However, her friend was apparently driving home from the coast and had her dog with her, so we decided to meet at the park, which was conveniently across the street. Not suspecting anything, I go strolling through the park with Amy, and we turn the corner and there's Sam standing there with rose petals all around him. I romantically yell "you're supposed to be golfing!" and then instant tears. No dog, no friend, just Sam ready to propose. Total shock and surprise! Sam's Version: In June, Leanna and I went about our normal morning routine. After I dropped her off at work, I drove to San Antonio to meet her dad for lunch and to ask for his permission to marry her then returned to work like nothing had happened. Amy and I had been scheming for a few weeks ahead of sister's weekend about the best way for me to propose to Leanna. I even created a video of the exact route for Amy to lead Leanna down on the day I would propose. (Saturday) While Leanna and Amy were getting their nails done, I picked up champagne, rose petals, flowers, and everything I needed to pop the question. I took everything I needed over to Eric and Sarah's apartment to leave overnight. (Sunday) I woke up to "go golfing" then stopped by a coffee shop to kill some time over a cup of coffee. When the time came, I went to Eric and Sarah's to get dressed (with help from people with style), then headed to the park to set up. I waited for what seemed like forever before I spotted Leanna and Amy..
