Jim and Sam met in early 2015. Sam was out with a group of friends, and invited her friend Pat to meet up with them. Pat came along later that night, and he brought his friend Jim. Sam and Jim briefly talked, but nothing came from it. Fast forward to summer: it was a hot, sunny day in New York City and were both invited to the same bar crawl in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. This was Sam’s first time going to Williamsburg, so she was hesitant at first. She also didn’t know anyone else going, except for her friend Pat, but she ended up going anyway because she had a gut feeling it would be fun. Jim got an invite to the same bar crawl in Williamsburg and he couldn’t say no. On the day of the bar crawl, Pat told Jim that Sam would be there. He was excited to get another shot at talking to a women he really hit it off with it. As soon as she arrived, Jim was trying to figure out a way to talk to her and when the moment happened, he made his move. We talked all day, bar after bar, and bonded over a number of things including Game of Thrones. It was all history from there.

Jim & Sam went on a mini-vacation to California in early September. It was Sam’s birthday weekend, which also fell on the weekend of their four year anniversary and they were eager to explore wine country with some friends. Jim originally planned to propose on a hot air balloon, but due to weather, the hot air balloon ride was postponed to Sunday, which was the day they were leaving to go back home. Jim quickly thought of a second plan: propose at one of the wineries. The next day, they went to Lynmar Estates in Sonoma for a wine tasting. When they were done with the tasting they decided to explore the winery’s infamous garden. After taking a ton of photos, Sam asked her friend Rachelle if she could take a photo of her and Jim in the garden. Little to Sam’s knowledge, this was the perfect opportunity for Jim to propose. He then got down on one knee and asked the most important question of his life, to the love of his life.
