Why is the ceremony so early?

Answer

We get it. 9 AM is less than ideal and will require a much earlier start to the day than most weddings. Like many other couples impacted by the pandemic, we often found ourselves with limited options. The one thing we maintained is our desire to get married in San Francisco City Hall. It means a lot to commence this next chapter of our lives with a return to where it all began. We understand that this will be difficult for those that plan to travel and sincerely appreciate the effort.

COVID-19 Considerations

Answer

San Francisco currently has several restrictive measures in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As of August 20, in order to frequent many restaurants, bars, clubs, gyms, or in-door events you must present proof of vaccination. Masks are required for indoor events, regardless of vaccination status (this includes City Hall). As of September 20, proof of vaccination is not required for entry to City Hall. We'll update this page as information becomes available. Masks are required when walking through the dining room at La Mar, however they may be removed while enjoying the outdoor patio.

What's the Plan for New Year's Eve?

For those who wish to celebrate New Year's Eve in San Francisco, please join us at The Cigar Bar & Grill for drinks, food, and live salsa music. We look forward to ringing in 2022 together! We have reserved a private room and some seats within the adjourning courtyard where guests can gather and take a breather between songs. We expect the venue to be very busy.. The Cigar Bar & Grill 850 Montgomery Street San Francisco, CA 94133 (415) 398-0850 9 PM - Close Proof of vaccination is required at the door.

Security at City Hall

Answer

Please remember to allow for extra time to go through security. Large bags are not encouraged. All persons entering City Hall shall be required to stop at the security desk located at any entrance to City Hall and allow the deputy sheriffs posted at such security desk to perform security procedures, including, without limitation, inspecting bags, purses and briefcases, and requiring entrants to pass through metal detectors.

4th Floor Gallery North

Answer

The main entrance to City Hall is on Polk Street (Goodlett Place). After going through security, take the elevator to the 4th floor and follow signs for the North Gallery. You may enter on either side of the gallery.

Are children welcome?

Answer

We love your wee ones but understand if you want to take the day off :) If you'd like to bring your children, please include them on your RSVP. In San Francisco, children 10 and over must wear face coverings, like adults do in all indoor public buildings.
