Travel
Please plan on being jet lagged! We suggest arriving in Iceland at least 1 -2 days before the wedding to adjust.
1. Fly from California to Iceland
Book a flight from a major airport in California (such as LAX, SFO, or SAN) to Keflavík International Airport (KEF), Iceland’s main international airport.
Most flights are non-direct and may include a layover in a U.S. city or Europe. Icelandair and Delta often operate routes to Keflavík.
2. Travel from Keflavík to Búðir
Car Rental: Rent a car at Keflavík International Airport for the most flexible travel option. Driving in Iceland is straightforward, and the roads to Búðir are well-maintained.
Driving Directions:
From Keflavík, take Route 41 toward Reykjavík.
In Reykjavík, transition to Route 1 (Ring Road) heading north toward Borgarnes.
After Borgarnes, turn onto Route 54 toward Snæfellsnes Peninsula.
Near the town of Arnarstapi, take the turn-off to Route 574 and follow the signs to Búðir.
The drive takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours
