We highly recommend you fly directly to Cozumel International Airport (CZM). It might be cheaper to fly to Cancun, but it is a time-consuming and challenging journey to get to the island from there. The Cozumel airport is very easy to navigate and we will provide transportation between the airport and various accommodations from Thursday to Sunday.
Gretchen and Sam will be arriving on the island on Saturday, March 22nd and we would love to spend more time with you! There will be planned activities throughout the week for those who can join us like scuba diving, tequila tasting, cave and cenote exploration, Mayan ruins and more! The couple will be departing on Sunday, March 30th around midmorning, but you are welcome to extend your stay in paradise for as long as you wish!
The weather in Cozumel in March is hot. The average temperatures are between 62 and 86 degrees. Usually, the days are hot while the nights are a bit cooler.
You will likely not need a rental car. There will be transportation services provided from Thursday to Sunday and we will also have several rental cars reserved to accommodate additional transportation needs. A taxi ride from downtown to Ventanas al Mar is about 20 USD.
Most places on the island take credit card, but you might want pesos for smaller souvenirs or tips. The exchange rate is approximately 20 MXN to 1 USD. You can get pesos at any ATM.
YES!!!!! Please check the expiration date (:
Beach/tropical clothing; swimsuit, sunscreen, sunglasses, passport, sun hat, wedding outfit, sandals, toiletries, beach reads. Nothing too fancy needed!
No. Ventanas al Mar is a beautiful eco-lodge on the wild side of the island, run on a generator. It is a charming, rustic experience and we've got the entire thing to ourselves!
Outside of the scheduled wedding weekend meals (Friday dinner, Saturday dinner, and Sunday breakfast), Ventanas has a breakfast, lunch, and drink menu you can order from. Coconuts Bar and Grill is right next door, offering stunning cliffside views, and our personal favorite, Mezcalitos, is just a short drive up the road. Scattered along the coast are various beach clubs that also serve traditional food and drink.
Yes, but we would not recommend trying to do a zoom meeting or important business on it.
Ventanas al Mar operates fully off of a generator. A/C is turned on in the rooms from 9pm to 9am.
