Grace Dillon

Maid of Honor

Since before we could walk or talk, Grace has been my number one cousin, confidante, supporter, and sleep-over-haver. Throughout my life, growing up with her as a "Best Cousin Forever" has been the greatest gift; whether it's "going running" in our childhood (aka walking down Dillon Drive together and talking for hours, because who actually wants to run?), or our adult hobby of taking each other on cousin dates at fancy and romantic Italian restaurants, I couldn't be more thankful to have a friend, supporter, and BCF like her in my life. We hope one day to have homes next to one another and have our own children grow up to be best friends as well. Until then, she'll stand today as my maid-of-honor and best friend.

Kevin Scherer

Best Man

Kev has been a foundational piece of my life since gracing me with his kindness and compassion during my freshman year of college. He is the ultimate friend who prioritizes everyone else’s needs over his own. Whether it’s carrying you on his back when you’re too tired to walk, unexpectedly slow-roasting pulled pork, or embracing you with the world's most comforting hug, Kev embodies all that is right in a person. I am honored to have Kev in my life and even more grateful to call him a brother. Cheers to a Best Man who always has fresh beer on tap!

Olivia Welk

Bridesmaid

I didn't know how much I was missing without Olivia Welk in my life. Though she's Sam's sister, Sam is now the third wheel in the relationship that Olivia and I have. She has this perceptive ability to read between the lines--whether it's people, in conversations, or when she's literally looking in between two lines. She has a knack for listening from the heart, and empowering those around her. Her fellowship as a cat-mother, good-book-reader, good-food-haver, late-night-heart-to-hearter, dancer, and charcuterie-board maker puts the Fellowship of the Ring to shame.

Sam Brady

Groomsman

I knew Sam was a special person when I met him outside the dining hall at UW-Madison. Sitting on a rock, he was cracking jokes and gleefully conversing with friends despite having just fractured his ankle in an attempt to carry our friend (shout out to Cal) on his back following a celebratory Wine Wednesday. Regardless of whether there was liquid courage at play or not, this anecdote speaks to Sam’s personality. Sam is a constant source of positivity and compassion who will drop everything to listen, support, and uplift (literally) you at a moment’s notice. Anyone who is fortunate enough to know Sam has a better life because of him.

Kristin Dillon

Bridesmaid

I honestly cannot remember how any of us survived before Kristin was a part of the Dillon family. I'm sure we did, but she's such an incredible human that I've come to think of time as BK and AK (before Kristin and after Kristin). Her unwavering strength and unconditional love as a sister and a friend is shadowed only by her professionalism and camaraderie as my beer pong partner. Her status is further elevated as mom to the two greatest humans on the planet and my sole reason for being. Navigating life is much sweeter with her by my side!

Tom Dillon

Groomsman

Nothing showcases Tom’s patient, loving, and joyous temperament more than seeing him be the world’s greatest dad to Annie and Nora. He puts all his energy and heart into supporting and loving his family, which is just one of the reasons I have such great admiration for him. Tom is one of the most approachable people I have ever met and has treated me as a part of the family since the first day. Tom is always making the extra effort to make me feel included, especially getting in my annual rounds of golf. However, I’m still unsure if it’s out of love or to make him feel better about his game watching me play…Regardless, it’s a privilege to have a future brother in Tom and I’m so grateful to have him stand beside me at our wedding.

Clare Dillon

Bridesmaid

I had always wanted a sister like Clare. As I grew, and my parents kept adding more brothers to the mix, I became increasingly annoyed, wondering how long I'd have to wait for a sister. It turns out, even though we're eleven years apart, she was well worth the wait. As a resident mini-me sprinkled with some extra sass, Clare constantly surprises me with her kindness, strength, wit, grace, and height. Having said that, her puns and her dance moves are far inferior to my own. Ask anyone. (Don't ask Clare, though). I couldn't dream up a better sister or friend; as the perfect combination of both, I'm so thankful to have Clarey standing by my side.

John Syburg

Groomsman

There isn’t anything more enjoyable than being in John’s presence. John brings a glowing energy everywhere he goes, so every minute spent with him is a minute spent laughing and creating new memories. As John heads into his career as a PA, I think of how fortunate his future patients are to have his empathetic and impassioned care. As a friend, I am fortunate for John’s never-ending trust and support. I’m thankful for every moment and cherish every conversation I have with John, but especially thankful to relish every Giannis dunk, Rodgers throw, or Brewers walk-off home run together. To all those memories and the ones yet to be created, everyone needs a John in their life.
