How We Met

Truly meant to be!

It all started when Gabby downloaded a dating app called "Holy". Not going to lie, she was very skeptical when it came to dating apps. Although, she had some hope- since it was a christian dating app and it happened to be the same one that her sister found her husband on as well (ironic- huh?). On the other side, this was Sam's first time on a dating app. Although she was 3 hours away, Gabby caught Sam's eye right away. In July 2023, he messaged her but never thought she would answer back! Gabby messaged him back and the two started talking very casually, until Gabby told Sam that she was getting off the app for a month to focus on her relationship with the Lord. After the month was over, Gabby re downloaded the app and was excited to message Sam again and continue where they left off. This was a total shock to Sam as he didn't think Gabby would message him again! The two of them starting texting frequently, which turned into hours of phone calls and FaceTimes. After about a month of texting and calling, they went on their first date at a Pumpkin Patch halfway between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg. They were practically the only ones there, which led to an amazing date! Sam asked Gabby to be his girlfriend two weeks later at the Melting Pot in Pittsburgh and they have been head over heels for each other ever since!

The Proposal

March 2nd, 2024

Sam and Gabby knew from the beginning that they were going to get married. Gabby knew she wanted a fall wedding and didn't want to wait until Fall 2025- so she was researching wedding venues before the two were engaged. Gabby and Sam visited Armstrong Farms on February 3rd, 2024 and fell in love with the venue so they booked it for one of their last open dates in the fall of 2024. When Sam's parents were in town, the two families planned to go see the venue together at an open house event. They walked around for a while, meeting different vendors- which included the photographer. Little did Gabby know that she was going to capture the proposal a few minutes later! The photographer showed them the outdoor area where the ceremony would take place. Sam followed the photographer to the end of the "aisle" where he waited for Gabby to meet him. BUT, Gabby was somewhat oblivious to what was happening and didn't want to get her white shoes dirty so she stayed back to look at the space from afar. With some convincing, Gabby walked in the muddy grass where Sam was and he got down on one knee and asked Gabby to marry him! The family and vendors celebrated this special moment with cupcakes, a live violinist, and free chicken! Gabby and Sam came back to Matt and Amy's house where they were greeted with their friends and family to celebrate this moment with them!
