In the spring of 2019, Felipe and Sam met at a shabbat at Temple Emanu-El in San Francisco. Shortly after, the two fell in love in California. During the global pandemic in 2020, the two quarantined and then moved in together. Over time, they built a beautiful home and life together. On June 1st, 2022, on an island off the coast of Brazil, Felipe asked Sam to marry him. They have since celebrated their engagement with family and friends and feel deep gratitude for the upcoming wedding in May 2024.
