We met at Mission Road Bible Church in Kansas City, Kansas. We made a connection one night at bible study when we happen to sit next to each other during the food and fellowship hour. It was actually on February 9, Sam's birthday! Two weeks later the same thing happened, except that night I found out Sam was moving back to California that following Monday. He went on to ask when I would be in California again, because coincidentally I also happen to be from Southern California. I had a wedding to attend in May and he asked if I needed a date to my friend's wedding, to which I said yes. The next couple of months consisted of texting, phone calls, and video chat. It didn't take long for us to know we wanted to be together. In May, we attended my friend's wedding, he met my family, I met his family and all was great!
