Hit the trails! These are totally worth your time: - The M Trail - The Milwaukee river front walking path that parallels the Clark Fork River in the heart of downtown - Waterworks North Hills - The Rattlesnake trail system for longer hikes and bikes - Sound of Music Trail the name says it all (wildflowers galore) Bike, run, or hike them! Sam and Elizabeth would love to lead you on a short mountain biking ride if time permits. Favorite eateries: Tagliare Delicatessen, Zoo Thai, The Patio at Rattlesnake, Wally & Buck, TopHat, and Grist Milling and Bakery. Big Dipper for the best ice cream in town (our first date spot) And of course, breweries! You really can’t go wrong with any of them, but our favorites are Draughtworks, Kettlehouse, and the Dram Shop.
Don’t miss the Missoula Farmers Market (Saturday mornings downtown)—fresh produce, local goods, food trucks, and a great community vibe.
Easy 9-hole golf course near the University of Montana. Stop in for some farm-to-table food in their cafe.
Located on the walking path along the Clark Fork, the historic Milwaukee Deport is a former railway station converted to a museum.
Check out the Bison Range, which is just 45 minutes north of Missoula. The CSKT Bison Range is a historical wildlife conservation area home to roughly 350 bison. This is well worth a morning drive. Garden of One Thousand Buddas and St. Ignatius Mission are in close proximity and this road trip could be done in a 1/2 day.
Guided fly fishing trips available through this company.
Glacier National Park is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Missoula and is one of our favorite National Parks! Reservations for vehicle entry are required. Use the website below to book those. Going-to-the-Sun Road is an iconic drive in Glacier. We would recommend booking shuttles to avoid competing for limited parking within the Park. These reservations can be found on the Glacier website. Biking the Going-to-the-Sun Road is another great option.
