Things To Do

Most people know Salem for the infamous witch trials, but there's way more cool things to do than tourist trap witch tours. Here are some of our favorite spots in the local area for entertainment, unique gifts, and fun hang outs!
The House of the Seven Gables

The House of the Seven Gables

115 Derby Street, Salem, MA 01970
, (978) 744-0991

In 1668, merchant and ship-owner John Turner built a house on Salem Harbor that was destined to become one of America’s most beloved historic homes. Designated a National Historic Landmark District in 2007, The House of the Seven Gables is best known today as the setting of world-renowned American author Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1851 novel.

Ropes Mansion Garden

Located in the beautiful McIntyre Historic District. A great place to walk around and see beautiful architecture. The garden at Ropes Mansion is open to the public year round and has hundreds of varieties of shrubs and flowers. Fun fact, this was the mansion Alison lived at in Hocus Pocus. "What do you call them, Max, Yabbos?"

Salem Willows Park

Salem Willows Park

165 Fort Avenue, Salem, MA 01970

Salem's own historic waterfront park & mini 'boardwalk' promenade. Go for a stroll around the willows for arcades, food stalls, seafood shacks and ocean views

The Witch House at Salem

The only structure still standing in Salem that has a direct connection to the witchcraft trials and is open to the public is the Witch House, on the corner of Essex and North Streets.

HausWitch Home + Healing

HausWitch Home + Healing

144 Washington Street, Salem, MA 01970
, (978) 594-8950

One of Becca's favorite stores. It is so beautifully "Salem" and witchy, but in a modern way. They have an array of homeware, art, serums, perfumes, crystals, and spell kits- if you're into that. Definitely worth checking out if you want to dip your toe into the "witchy" things that's not a tourist trap.
