In 1668, merchant and ship-owner John Turner built a house on Salem Harbor that was destined to become one of America’s most beloved historic homes. Designated a National Historic Landmark District in 2007, The House of the Seven Gables is best known today as the setting of world-renowned American author Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1851 novel.
Located in the beautiful McIntyre Historic District. A great place to walk around and see beautiful architecture. The garden at Ropes Mansion is open to the public year round and has hundreds of varieties of shrubs and flowers. Fun fact, this was the mansion Alison lived at in Hocus Pocus. "What do you call them, Max, Yabbos?"
One of Becca's favorite stores. It is so beautifully "Salem" and witchy, but in a modern way. They have an array of homeware, art, serums, perfumes, crystals, and spell kits- if you're into that. Definitely worth checking out if you want to dip your toe into the "witchy" things that's not a tourist trap.
