Our story began in the summer of 2021. That first date at Legal Harborside turned into hours of effortless conversation, so long that the restaurant eventually had to kick us out. Not ready for the night to end, we took our date outside, walking along the water and hopping from place to place, talking about everything and nothing. From that very first evening, we knew something special was beginning. We quickly became inseparable, filling our days with adventures both spontaneous and planned. We explored new restaurants, tried activities like roller skating on Nahant Beach, go-karting, and hiking beautiful trails, and traveled throughout New England and beyond, orchards in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, WaterFire and vineyards in Rhode Island, and wine and cider tastings in New York’s Finger Lakes. Sam introduced Atira to her first sports games, and we bonded over a shared love of music, attending many live concerts together. Along the way, our lives naturally intertwined with one another’s families and friends, creating new traditions and deepening our sense of home. Our love grew in the quiet, meaningful moments too, much like the garden we tended together at Belmont Gardens, where we learned how to nurture something side by side and find joy even when our strawberries were devoured by local critters. In our cozy 400-square-foot apartment, we tackled puzzles and movie marathons (like all 8 of the Mission Impossible series), making the most of every shared moment. That same thoughtfulness carried into Sam’s proposal: knowing Atira would dress up for something truly special, he planned a romantic boat ride at Rowes Wharf. With a photographer discreetly capturing the moment, Sam asked Atira to marry him under the Rowes Wharf arch on July 3, 2025 beginning our engagement on the shores of Boston, where our love story first began.
