Thank goodness for horses and bars. Am I right? On the first night we met, we carpooled with our GVSU Equestrian Team friends for a night of line dancing at the Pipeline Smokehouse Bar & Grill. We spent the night laughing with our friends, enjoying each other's company, and learning how to dance the Blue Rose together. From there on out it was horse barn activities, late night boneless wing dates, and karaoke parties at the apartment.. And the rest is history!
Sam is usually not very good at surprising me, but he got me this time! It all started when my sneaky sister took me out for a regular ol' horse trail ride on our grandma's property. Little did I know that the entire time I was talking to her about our plans to get engaged, she was texting Sam and my family! We eventually made it to one of our hayfields, and I was surprised to see our friend Maddie snapping lots of photos. I didn't even realize that Sam was underneath the giant oak tree! After some encouragement from my sister (who had to point out to me that it was Sam), I rode over to see him, very confused as to why he wasn't at work. Once he got down on one knee, it was all a blur. Neither of us remembers what was said, because we couldn't believe it was happening! Shortly after, we met with all of our family and spent the rest of the evening celebrating with everyone. It was absolutely perfect!
