Flights are usually cheaper through this airport. Anywhere between a 40 minute to 2 hour drive to Pasadena depending on traffic. Rental cars and LA Metro trains are a shuttle away. Dedicated ride share lot, follow the signs.

Bob Hope Airport, Burbank

Closer to Pasadena but direct flights are rare. This airport is much smaller and easier to fly out of.
