The story of Sam and Joey began in early 2025. From a misunderstanding, they had their first conversation online. They discussed their faith and intentions to be involved in student ministry. A couple months of silence went by until they bumped into each other at the gym, while home for summer break. Joey walked right up and introduced herself, friendly as could be. Sam was not expecting it, but was happy to have made friends with this beautiful, kind woman. They continued to see each other at the gym and have conversations in passing for a few weeks. Eventually, Sam decided to ask Joey on a date. After going on two dates and having a lot of fun, suddenly, circumstances and busy schedules separated them. Almost a month went by with minimal conversations, and they thought the story was going to end. God had other plans. On his way to play basketball at the city park, Sam noticed Joey's familiar face walking laps. He was afraid to see her after so long and worried it would be an uncomfortable situation. He was not expecting to talk to her, assuming she would continue to walk while he played basketball. This was not the case, however, as Joey approached Sam. He panicked, thinking she would be upset or angry. She was not. She asked about the events that Sam had participated in, school in the fall, church, and anything else that was on her mind. This was when Sam realized God was not done with their story. Sam asked her to come church with him on the spot, and then three dates and one week later, they began their relationship. Since then they have grown in their love for God and each other and they are so thankful that God orchestrated the meeting at the park to rekindle what was almost lost. The story of Sam and Joey has really reminded them that the Lord is in control of everything and works in mysterious ways. Now they praise God every day that He did not let their story end.
