Sam sat behind Kate in seventh grade algebra class and always graded her quizzes with a smiley face. This is when the mutual crushing began. We eventually got over our crushes for a couple years until it was sparked back up in ninth grade geography. Sam said, "Hi Kate!" every day as he entered the classroom and the spark was rekindled. Spring of 2009 we officially began "going out" with each other.

Sam proposed while we were in Zermatt, Switzerland. Sam had plans to go snowboarding with his buddy and the girls were going to meet up later. Kate happened to be sick the day he chose so was at the doctor and had no expectations of being able to make it up the mountain. Thankfully, the Swiss doctors worked their magic and Kate was able to make it up to the top of the alps and Sam proposed with the famous Matterhorn in the background. It still feels like a dream! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you up north!
