Grand Teton National Park is a little less than an hour drive from Alpine. The park was established in 1929 and spans roughly 310,000 acres. Park entrance is not required to experience the mountain view as they are clearly visible from the highway and have several pull outs to stop and snap some pictures or just take in the view. Grand Teton is the highest peak in the mountain range and shoots up to 13,775 feet in elevation. However, there are 8 peaks that top out over 12,000 feet. Definitely an awe-inspiring sight.
Yellowstone National Park is only about a 2.5 hour drive from Alpine, and being that it's Yellowstone I don't think any explanation is necessary.
