FRANCIS The first time I saw Salome was in the university, we both attended the same university. I was two years ahead of her. She was sitting under a big tree close to the VC’s office. She looked so calm and peaceful. I was intrigued, and curious. I wanted to get to know this calm person sitting under a tree. Anyways I didn’t approach her. LOL. I just didn’t. After that I saw her regular around school, especially the period a classmate of mine was campaigning for SUG president. We never really spoke when we were in school. The “speaking” started after I left school. We started as causal friends., and then became close friends. Our communication first started on our social media handles. Our conversations were very enlightening and uplighting. I cannot explain exactly what point I fell in love with her, but from the first day I saw her, I knew I already liked her and wanted to be around her… well, I am now around her for life. I am in-love with a church girl and my best friend. The Bible says he that finds a wife finds a good thing, Salome is a good thing and I am already enjoying the blessings of finding my good thing. *** SALOME Francis and I were friends on two of our social media handles for a while before we started talking. The first thing I noticed was his love for God and the things concerning the kingdom. Francis is a very smart man, and if you have a chance to have a conversation with him, you would be so enlightened. He is peaceful to talk with and he created a safe space for our friendship to grow. He is a good listener. He is also very intentional. He notices every little details about me… when I do a new hair or a new nail or when I’m having a bad day or excited… like he knows me so well. It was a gradual process, but peaceful transition from friends to lovers. I am excited about this new life and family we are about to build and my (and his) goal is to place God at the center while we sit at the back. I have no doubt that Francis will make a good husband to me and a good father to our kids.

Our proposal was not the conventional kind, where there are red roses and a big love hoop wreath with some professional playing cool music at the background…. All the instagram stuff. It was on a phone call. LOL. When I told Salome I wanted to marry her, she said we should pray about it. We did pray and we got the conviction to spend our lives together. I really wanted to do all the paparazzi for her because she deserves it but distance was the main issue as we both stay in different countries for the main time. I sent the ring later… the ring travelled miles to meet the owner. LOL. The proposal wasn’t so organized, or even the best but the response she gave was the best to me. In the future I will give her a better proposal, maybe on our tenth year anniversary. LOL. *** For me, my proposal was the best. I am not so much of a crowd person or a lover of so much paparazzi. I have envisioned how small and private my proposal would be, myself, fiancee and our families and closet friends (but not as small and private as Francis did. Lol), but it is still the best proposal to me. I am getting to married my own person.
