Things To Do

Hiking

The White Mountains offer miles and miles of beautiful hiking trails. Visit the link below for suggested trails from short easy walks to day long challenging hikes. Driving directions listed begin at The Common Man Inn.

New Hampshire Craft Beer

We love craft beer and there is really no wrong answer when choosing which NH brewery to visit. Two breweries that hold a special place in our hearts are Lone Wolf Brewing Company in Wolfeboro, NH and Great Rythm Brewing Company in Portsmouth, NH. While both brewers are a bit of a drive from Plymouth, they are in the heart of beautiful NH towns with lots to do! There is no such thing as an ugly drive in NH and both these breweries are well worth a day trip.

Mountain High Fly

27 Main St, Lincoln, NH 03251
, (603) 348-7447

Fly fishing outfitter supplying tackle and guides for White Mountains area. Ask them about the best spots to catch trout on the Pemigewasset (the Pemi) river!

Golf at Owl's Nest

40 Clubhouse Lane, Thornton, NH 03285
, (603) 726-3076

The only Nicklaus Design course in New Hampshire! A beautiful course set in the heart of the White Mountains located 15 minutes north of Plymouth.

The Polar Caves

703 Rumney Rt 25, Rumney, NH 03266
, (603) 536-1888

Explore the granite caves left behind after the last Ice Age. Located 15 minutes from Plymouth, Polar Caves offers cave tours, rock climbing, sluice mining and even a rare animal petting zoo!

Sculptured Rocks Natural Area

251 Sculptured Rocks Rd, Groton, NH 03241

Awesome little geological oddity carved out by the Cockermouth river. The viewing bridge is located close to the parking area with lots of hiking on snowmobile trails beyond. If you feel like braving the mountain run-off, the swimming holes here can't be beat. Dog friendly and easy trail hiking for all ages.

Alpine Adventures

41 Main Street, Lincoln, NH 03251
, (603) 745-9911

Wicked huge zip-lining and ropes course facility in Lincoln, NH. They also offer 6-wheel drive off-road tours to the top of Baron Mountain. If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, this is where to find it!

Southern Maine (SoMe) Brewing Company

1 York Street, York, ME 03909
, (207) 351-8162

In our humble opinion? The best craft beer in the world. This is hands down our favorite brewery on the planet. Not only because of the huge variety of absolutely delicious beer they always have on tap but the staff are the nicest people you will ever meet. Also, there's always fresh popped popcorn to munch on while you kick your fiancees butt at Cribbage. York, ME and nearby Portsmouth, NH are perfect day trip destinations with tons of incredible things to do.
