Things To Do

We've put together some of our favorite spots & recommendations around Minneapolis if you're arriving early or staying through the weekend. Please reach out with any questions!

If you're staying downtown...

We'd suggest heading over to the North Loop area to explore shopping, bars & restaurants, or sit outside on a patio or rooftop (including Hewing Hotel & Graze food hall, both open to the public). For a scenic walk, cross the Hennepin Ave bridge over the Mississippi River, or head over to the Minneapolis Sculpture garden. On Saturday morning, check out the Mill City Farmer’s Market, or the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market.

Minneapolis Restaurants

Here's a short list of good spots within walking distance or quick Uber ride from downtown hotels: BREAKFAST // BRUNCH Hen House Key’s cafe Rise Bagels NOLO kitchen & bar LUNCH // DINNER The Freehouse (patio seating & family friendly) Monte Carlo (classic bar with patio) Black Sheep Pizza (coal-fired pizza & salads) Smack Shack (seafood spot with patio) Gai Noi (award-winning thai food) Boludo (amazing pizza) BARS: Brit’s pub (fun british pub with rooftop seating & lawn bowling) Cuzzy's bar (hole-in-the-wall bar) Parlour Bar (amazing burger & great cocktails) Kieran's Irish pub

Museums

Walker Art Center + Minneapolis Sculpture Garden (modern art & outdoor sculpture garden featuring the famous Spoon & Cherry statue) // Minneapolis Institute of Arts (one of the world's largest art museums) // Mill City Museum (set along the Mississippi River, on the site of the old Gold Medal flour mill)

Minneapolis activities

Visit the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes (Lake of the Isles, Lake Harriet & Bde Maka Ska) for a leisurely stroll, kayak or paddle board rental, or an day at the beach // Drive along the Mississippi River road over to Minnehaha Falls to explore the park and enjoy views of the waterfall & bluffs. Don't miss tasty food & drink at Sea Salt Eatery.

Frank's neighborhood - Linden Hills

If you're looking to visit Frank's stomping grounds (& soon-to-be Sally's too), head to Linden Hills. You'll find awesome Thai food at Naviya's, ice cream at Sebastian Joe's, pizza at Rosalia & beers at Wooden Ship Brewing. For coffee & pastries, visit Cafe Ceres or Turtle Bread, then stroll over to Lake Harriet less than a mile away.

Sally's Neighborhood - Northeast Mpls

Sally's neighborhood in Northeast Mpls is famous for artist lofts, great restaurants & several breweries. Best restaurants include Centro (tacos), Surdyk's Sidebar, Young Joni and Kramarczuk's polish deli. Stop for a beer at Indeed Brewing or Bauhaus Brew Labs. Take a walk along the river for some of the best views of downtown Mpls.

Breweries

Fulton taproom, Modist Brewing and Finnegan's are all located downtown Surly Brewing (huge family-friendly brewery near the U of Minn, also serves food) Pryes Brewer (large brewery near downtown on the Mississippi with outdoor seating)
