OUR STORY

LOVE AT FIRST FLIGHT

Okay, picture this... Sally had just sat down in the Dallas Love Field airport terminal, tired from a fun-filled trip with her friends. As she sat and reminisced with her buddies, a boy across from her caught her eye, 50% because of his freakishly good looks and 50% because of his UGA hat. He hadn’t noticed her yet as his head was bowed, feverishly zoned in on the Master’s playing on his phone. Sally and her friends couldn’t help but exchange a quick “Go Dawgs!” with this mysterious (and still freakishly good-looking guy) from across the way.  Sally and her friends quickly boarded the plane, joking about how they felt bad for whoever would have to sit in the seat in the middle of the group. After sitting down, buckling her seat belt, and settling in for a seemingly long, boring flight, a flash of red caught her eyes…was it the brightly colored UGA hat or the soft, red of his hair? The world may never know.  Sally felt butterflies flutter in her stomach as he sat down…right next to her. How could it be? It didn’t take long for the conversation to spark…first, they talked about what they did in Dallas, both visiting dear friends and realizing they both went to the same Texas landmark the same night…(fate was still taking its course). After realizing they were on the same flight on the way to Dallas, Sally quickly pulled up a selfie that she had taken upon boarding the flight a few days earlier…and what do you know, Chase was in the background!  They talked about their love for their alma mater, then moved on to mutual acquaintances, then to their current jobs, and….well, the conversation never died.  The feelings were confirmed when they both took off their masks to enjoy some mediocre coffee and a couple of Biscoff cookies…Chase had to sneak in a side glance…Phew, the rest of her face passed the test.  After talking for 2.5 hours straight, it was time to deboard the plane. Chase, to avoid sounding “stalkerish,” requested to connect via Instagram with the whole group while making their way to baggage claim. Sally, in attempts to make it known that she was currently single…blurted out the famous line “always a bridesmaid but never a bride…” (Well look at her now!!!!!!) After saying goodbye at baggage claim (both secretly plotting how they would connect later), Sally and her crew hopped on a shuttle to find her car in the airport parking lot. Upon arrival, they quickly started chucking their bags in the trunk as another shuttle pulled up close to them. Lo, and behold, Chase walks off the bus…and proceeds to walk towards his large red car (another good-looking red thing…)….parked….wait for it…right next to Sally’s car.  As Chase made the long trek home, he couldn’t help but daydream about the girl he had the pleasure of sitting next to on the most incredible flight of his life…He had to think of how he could message her…what he should say…when he should say it…Meanwhile, Sally later that night, saw a meme and sent it to him over Instagram, starting the conversation that would soon lead to the most beautiful romance.  Was it fate? We will let you decide that one….at the most epic wedding of the year!
