Sally and Brandon first met during Brandon's interview at Northfield Mount Hermon in the Spring of 2014. They would both later recall immediate interest in the other, but they both ignored their initial feelings as they were sure to become colleagues. It only took a few months of spending time together for their feelings to bubble over any uncertainties. Sally made some futile attempts at flirtation, asking Brandon to tutor her advisees in Economics, or to ask for advice. Brandon's attempts at flirtation were even more subtle, and they continued to each think they were wooing the other with smooth moves, despite neither actually doing so. Finally, during a weekend of graduate school classes and endless fun with PRMT fellows, both Brandon and Sally mustered the courage to share their feelings. In their Halloween best, Sally dressed as Wednesday Addams, and Brandon as Happy Gilmore, the two discovered that their desire to be more than friends was indeed mutual. They embarked on the awkwardness of dating at boarding school, and their relationship quickly blossomed. Brandon and Sally balanced their love of teaching, love of coaching, and their love for each other through the years, which have brought them to a new home and new roles over the past seven years. After their first international trip to China, admittedly with 12 students in tow, Brandon and Sally planned a second overseas trip to Berlin and Amsterdam in the summer of 2018. With major storms in the forecast, Delta offered the couple to move up their flight to Europe, thus foiling Brandon's Saturday night pre-departure proposal plans. Brandon rolled with the punches, and shared his no-longer-plans with Sally's mom, dad, and sister, and discussed his desire to marry Sally. With their love and support (and Stacey's tears), Brandon proceeded to improvise abroad, ultimately asking for Sally's hand in marriage in front of her favorite sight in Berlin -- the Brandenburg Gates. And the rest, they say, is history.
