The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is an admission-free amusement park with a variety of rides and activities. Notable are the historic Giant Dipper (a wooden roller coaster built in 1924), the hand-carved Merry-Go-Round, and the Sky Glider (or Bubble Ride as Sally called it as a child).
A great place to shop, eat, drink, and people watch! This is a must-do every time we visit Santa Cruz. Our favorite stops here are: El Palomar (great Mexican food), Pour Taproom (For beer enthusiasts), Artisans & Agency (for all locally-crafted items) and Pizza My Heart. Find a seat outside and take in some good people-watching, or tip your favorite street-performer.
Capitola has a unique charm with its beautiful beaches and historic and colorful architecture, reminiscent of a Mediterranean village. You will find unique gift shops, wine tasting rooms, galleries, apparel shops, surf shops, etc.
