We began talking on Mother’s Day last year, at a moment when life was already gently shifting into place. Lee was in the midst of returning home to Martha’s Vineyard after months of transition, and within the very first week of his move back, our paths crossed. From that moment on, everything felt easy, familiar, and unmistakably right. What followed was love—deep, natural, and steady. We quickly realized how much we share: the same values, the same rhythms, the same joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. Between us, we are blessed with seven wonderful children and three beautiful grandchildren. Even more remarkably, some of our children knew each other long before we met. In fact, I had met Lee’s granddaughter before meeting Lee himself. It felt less like coincidence and more like fate gently weaving our lives together long before we ever noticed. This love came to us at a time when we truly understood its value. We are older now, a little wiser, and profoundly grateful for the journey that led us here. Finding one another has deepened our appreciation for a love that is patient, joyful, and full of purpose.
