Her Side

It was a Saturday night in April of 2017, and I was out with friends celebrating my new Pediatric RN certification. After having a bite to eat and a drink in Wicker Park, my friend Damyra and I decided we weren't ready to head home. Off to The Underground we went. It was packed and we ended up losing each other towards the end of the night. So there I am sitting on a ledge trying to message her, and I try not to pay attention to the guy who just sat next to me. Eventually I turn to him and he introduces himself, “Hi, I’m John”. I respond "Hi, I'm trying to find my friend." He takes me by the hand and walks me around the entire place to find her. Finally we get back to the original spot and out pops Damyra. By now it's now time to go, so we all exit the place. I have an Uber/Lyft waiting for me and as John put me in the car we exchanged numbers. A few nice to meet you texts on the way home and that was the end of the night. We met for drinks at Simone's that Monday, had lunch and met with a financial advisor that Wednesday. Needless to say we were committed.

His Side

It was an April evening in the year 2017. A friend of mine invited me to a downtown club called The Underground, I decided to go for a bit. So I hurried home, after getting out of work. Got ready and jumped in an Uber. Got there and met up with my friend. We walked in, went over to the bar and got a drink. I gazed around the room and saw a curly haired girl wearing a yellow top sitting on a ledge against the wall. I found myself constantly glancing over at her. I couldn’t keep my eyes off of her, so I decided to approach. I made my way over, sat down next to her, on the ledge, and introduced myself. I complimented her on her curls. She smiled and responded that she was looking for her friend. I stood up, offered my hand, and did just that, helped her find her friend. They left shortly after that, I helped the curly haired girl into her Uber. We exchanged numbers and the rest was history!
