After 6 years of dating and never really doing the cliche Valentines Day dinner to avoid the crowds, Martin let me know a couple days before Valentine’s Day that we would be going to dinner that night! I was actually very excited to go out and have a nice dinner with my love since sometimes our busy lives can get in the way. He took me to a nice restaurant right on the water in National Harbor where we had a perfect view of the capital wheel. It’s one of our favorite places to go and have great food and a great view. Right there at dinner he got on one knee and asked me to marry him! Martin is not one for attention and making a scene so this completely surprised me and made me feel extremely special. After the proposal I found out his close friend had been sitting with his girlfriend on their own Valentine’s Day date close by waiting on his cue so he could take pictures and video of the entire thing. I also found out there were many other people involved and I couldn’t believe I didn’t catch on at all! It was such a unforgettable Valentine’s Day dinner that’s for sure! -Jessica
