High School Sweathearts

Janurary 13, 2013

We met our Senior year of high school. We were in the same math class together. Orginally, we both started off in seperate classrooms but by a twist of fate, we were both pulled from our seperate classes and moved into a new one. That is how our story began. Ibrahim was very shy and timid. I was more outgoing and loud. Somehow, I knew that Ibrahim was the person that I would spend the rest of my life with, even if we were just 17 years old. We may have been two very different people but We had found a way to complete one another. As our friendship grew, our love for eachother grew as well. Together, we made memories and friendships that would last a lifetime. Together, we grew as one and but we also grew as individuals. We have supported one another through the good and the bad. We have shared lifetime milestones together from High School graduations to College graduations. For some reason and some how, we were meant to find one another. From a little girl born in Chico, California to a little boy born in Cairo, Egypt, we started this life 7,311 miles apart but we plan to finish it together.

The Proposal

December 29, 2018

Nearly six years later, the day has finally come! The proposal. Ibrahim’s proposal happened in San Francisco, California. It was intended to be a short detour day trip. We were traveling to a nearby town called Livermore for a basketball tournament. But after realizing that Livermore was only a 45 minute drive from San Francisco, I could not help but convice Ibrahim to take me to San Francisco, even it was for just a short period of time! And of course, being the man that he is, it did not take much. So in between games, my little family and I took a trip to San Francisco, a trip that would go down to becoming one of the best days of my life. I remember thinking to myself how beautiful the city was that day. The sky was blue and clear, the air smelled fresh and crisp. The sun was shining and I could feel the warmth on my skin through the car window. My family had mentioned that it was good day to go to the beach, so that is where we went. Baker Beach in San Francisco. When we arrived we could see the Golden Gate Bridge so clearly in the distance. We took a walk along the beach, taking pictures and laughing. We wanted to take some better pictures. We decided to take a hike up the hill to find some higher views, to our dismay we realized there was no way to get any closer or higher so we made our way back down the hill. We wanted to take a few more pictures before we made our next stop to our favorite restaurant on the Pier. One more picture, that is what it was meant to be. One more picture that turned into a moment that I had dreamed of my whole life. One more picture that turned into an engagement. One more picture that was aboslutely perfect.
