Flight

Air Travel

You have many paths for arriving by plane, Laguardia airport is generally our preference. The new water feature alone is worth the landing. If you can't find a flight into LGA, JFK or Newark are your other best options. The nearest airports to Cold Spring are Stewart Airport in Newburgh (30 minutes driving) and Westchester County Airport in White Plains (45 minutes driving) Getting direct flights into these smaller airports might be more challenging. Bradley Airport in Hartford, CT, and the Albany airport are additional options within 2 hours of Glynwood.

Train

Amtrak

You can take Amtrak into New York City's Penn Station or to the Poughkeepsie Railroad Station. From Penn Station, you'll want to navigate to Grand Central Station to continue your journey north on Metro North's Hudson River Line. From the Poughkeepsie Station, you can transfer to this same line traveling south.

Train

Metro North

The Metro North commuter train's Hudson River Line is a great way to travel to the Hudson Valley from NYC's Grand Central Terminal. The Garrison, Cold Spring, and Beacon stations are all near our venue. While taxis are usually available at the stations, we recommend scheduling pick-up in advance on Lyft/Uber to ensure you have a ride to your final destination.

Travel Note

Cab/Rideshare Information

From any airport or train station, you should have an easy time finding a taxi to take you a short distance and can utilize ride-sharing companies if you're looking for a longer ride. A ride-share from Laguardia to Cold Spring will cost you around $200. Though taxis abound in the city, they are few and far between in the Hudson Valley, making ride-sharing apps your best bet. Using their schedule ahead feature makes this an even more reliable mode of transportation. Most importantly, it will not be possible to call a taxi/ride-share to come to Glynwood at the end of the event unless you schedule them in advance. Please be sure your safe travel plans for the end of the celebration are in place beforehand.

Travel Note

Traveling by Car

The Hudson Valley is most easily explored by car. If you are interested in sharing a rental, let us know and we can put you in touch with other folks interested in sharing.

Lodging Options

Whatever type of visit you are looking for, there is a lodging option to suit. Common brand name hotels in Fishkill, just a bit north of the wedding venue, are a good option. Spring Hill Suites and Hyatt House are often recommended. If you're looking for boutique-style hotels, check these out: The Roundhouse (Beacon) https://roundhousebeacon.com/hotel/ The Dutchess Inn (Beacon) https://www.thedutchessinn.com/ The Bird & Bottle (Garrison) https://www.thebirdandbottleinn.com/stay You can find plenty of cute private rentals online if you want to live like a local. For a more secluded vibe, we recommend Garrison. The village of Cold Spring has a classic, Main Street Americana feel and is closest to the venue. Beacon is a lively, small city that is very walkable and is home to the world-class contemporary art museum (and one of our favorites) Dia Beacon. Fishkill and Wappingers are also convenient bases from which to explore.

Travel Note

Where is Glynwood?

The Glynwood Center for Regional Food and Farming is a non-profit located on a working, organic farm that is surrounded by Fahnestock State Park - and our wedding venue! It tends to confound mapping apps, so please use the directions provided on Glynwood's website.
