Please wear whatever you feel your best in! Cocktail dresses and button-ups are fine; gowns and tuxes are also welcome. Please note that the ceremony is outdoors and on the water. Dress code for the welcome event is casual.
House of Seven Gables has it's own lot, and there is street parking surrounding it. Hotel Salem is on a pedestrian-only street (historic Essex st), but there is a large parking garage about a minute walk away right across from the Peabody Essex Museum, as well as lots of street parking surrounding the area. We recommend the parking garage, as it is very affordable, large, and close by. The Immaculate Conception Church lot where Derby st and Congress st meet is also a good option central between both the ceremony and reception if you would prefer that. We recommend street parking or the multi-level garage for overnight parking, however. If you are attending Welcome Drinks at Far From the Tree on Thursday, there is a small lot there and a surplus of street parking. It is an industrial area so there are lots of empty parking lots, but it is wiser to utilize the street parking. We often park on Jefferson Ave or Jackson street.
We will not be doing a sit down dinner, but there will be lots of options! We will have passed plates and food stations throughout the event. Please reach out to us or fill out on your RSVP card any allergies. For the celiac family, you are covered! Hotel Salem's chef will have gluten-free versions of each available item. We have talked with the chef and he'll make sure there are no cross-contamination issues.
One of the reasons we picked Salem is because it is one of our favorite towns to day-trip to! You are encouraged to take that time between events to explore some of the great offerings of Salem. We have a great "Things to Do" page with some of our favorite bars, restaurants, sight-seeing, and shopping pit-stops. For those who have not been to Salem before: if you go straight to Essex Street, that's a great starting place!
