Our story is an unlikely one. We met on a dating app where we both were not likely to find someone compatible with our interests and lifestyles. It was refreshing and exciting getting to know one another when we matched, and we immediately hit it off. We met in person on March 12th and had our first date in Chicago. It was a fantastic weekend and we agreed we wanted to continue seeing each other. We would have regular facetime conversations and texted daily. Once we felt ready, we introduced one another to our families who welcomed each of us with open arms. Salah was most delighted to learn that his cat Ghost approved of Tanya, solidifying our little family. It wasn't long after that when Salah decided to propose. After an elaborate plan that included some well-intentioned subterfuge, the help of one of Tanya’s best friends, a COVID-19 diagnosis and a restaurant mishap, Salah got down on one knee, nervously popped the question, and received the best one-word answer a man can receive.
