Our First Date

October 11th, 2019

Sal and Jenn met on Hinge. They messaged back and forth for a few days until Sal asked Jenn out to dinner at Hudson 29. Jenn arrived to the date too early so she stopped at a pet store nearby for a treat toy for Charlotte. Sal arrived right as she was leaving the store and their first encounter was Jenn awkwardly explaining that she has a fat cat at home that needs to exercise more. Sal thought it was adorable.

Our Unofficial Engagement

August 2020

Jenn bought a house in Westerville, Ohio in March of 2020-just in time for the pandemic to begin. Sal was still living in his apartment in New Albany, Ohio. Jenn had all of her appliances except for a washer and dryer, so she was bringing all laundry to his place. When we moved in together, Sal chose to purchase a washer and dryer for us as a housewarming gift. On his way home he turned to me and said "I guess we have to get married now". She said "I guess we do!"

Our Official Engagement

June 18th, 2021

Sal and Jenn went camping at Burr Oak Campground. The weather forecast called for a tornado watch and a flash flood warning. Ever the optimist, Jenn took a trip to Walmart to buy a canopy and a massive tarp. Setting up camp in the rain took a bit longer than normal, so when Sal suggested going for a walk after dinner, it was already dark out. He wanted to walk down to the beach, but they couldn't find it in the dark. They gave up on the beach for the night and decided to read in the tent to escape the rain. Right before Jenn and Sal went to sleep, Sal turned the lantern back on and said he found something. Jenn panicked and thought it was a bug or something, but Sal knelt in the tiny backpacking tent and asked if Jenn would marry him. She said yes!
