If I'm giving a check as a gift, who should I make it out to?

Please make any checks out to Stephanie Saksa OR Jacob Faes. Stephanie will not be changing her last name. Thank you!

Are you just doing a reception?

Answer

June 27, 2026 will only be the reception. We are doing a small ceremony on June 26 for bridal party and immediate family, which guests have been explicitly invited to. We are so excited to celebrate with you all on the 27th!

Where is the reception?

Answer

The reception is in the Wildlife Interpretative Gallery at the Detroit Zoo, which you probably know as the "Butterfly Garden." There will be signage as you enter the zoo, so park and enter as normal. The building is straight in from the entrance.

Will we be able to explore the zoo?

Answer

The wedding will be contained to the Wildlife Interpretive Gallery, and guests are not able to wander around the zoo. The Butterfly Garden will be open from 6-8 for guests to look at the butterflies and flora.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Unfortunately, due to the size of the venue, we are having a kid-free wedding. We know this makes things tougher on families, but we are hoping you will be able to treat it as a date night and join us in celebrating.

Can I bring a plus one?

Plus ones will be listed on the invitation, coming in the spring.

What is the dress code?

Answer

For the reception, the dress code is Garden Party Attire. We encourage bright colors, fun patterns, and pastels. Think about a butterfly garden as inspiration.

Is there parking for the reception?

Answer

Yes! There is free parking at the Detroit Zoo for all the wedding guests.
