Soooo…It all started December 2020 at our cousins, Hershey and Priya’s wedding. If we want to get technical, Pujan and I have always known of each other through family. We actually met when I was 8 months old ,and he was only a month old at a wedding. So you could say that weddings are lucky for us. This story really starts at Hershey and Priya’s wedding. During the events, we started talking and didn’t think much of it. If you ask our families they will swear to you, we started talking before the wedding. The funny thing about all this is we were actually trying to set each other up with other people. On the ride back from South Carolina, after the wedding festivities ended, we started talking and had more in common that we had thought. During the reception with the help of some liquid courage, Pujan brought up the idea of possibly seeing where things could go between us. At first, I quickly thought it was a bad idea as we had too many factors that would be affected if things went south. But at this point I had nothing to lose. I was a single 25 year old Indian girl who was feeling the pressures of settling down. So when he left, we exchanged Snapchats. Snapchats turned to long text messages, that turned to phone conversations that lasted all night. After a month of talking on the phone, we met up in Nashville in January of 2021. There he asked me to his girlfriend, and as they say, the rest is history!

So….. It was long over due but the moment had finally arrived. With the ring in my back pocket I was waiting for Sajani to walk down the path of flowers. All to ask that one life changing question. Sajani came to Nashville that morning believing that she was going to the mandir with her cousins. Little did she know, with the help of her family and friends, I had a whole scavenger hunt planned out all around Nashville. The first stop was her cousin, Priya and Hursh’s house. There she was greeted with a mysterious wooden box with the first clue of the day. This led her to The Graduate where she would get some coffee with her friends. This was the place where we had grabbed drinks on our first few initial dates. When she got there she was given her second clue which was a puzzle she had to solve. Let me be the first to say, that she is not an avid puzzle solver. This clue led her to a nail salon where her sister and her got their nails done. There she was presented with another clue and flowers which led her to Two Boots, our favorite pizza spot. To her surprise her brother and cousins were waiting for her. Of course those boys convinced her to take a little detour to partake in a celebratory shot at Kung Fu. Until this point, she had been running around Nashville in her athleisure wear. At her next spot she picked out an outfit with the help of her childhood friends and her favorite special little helper, Aryan. She probably would’ve killed me if I proposed to her in leggings! She then went to get dressed at The Thompson with some of her friends. After she was ready, a car was waiting for her to take her to our proposal spot. I had made her this cheesy Bollywood video with some of our favorite memories together to watch along the way. She’s a sucker for a good Bollywood romance ,so I knew this was going to bring some tears to her eyes. When she got out of the car I saw that she was wearing this beautiful black dress. For lack of better words she was just “looking like a wow.” When she finally made it to me, I asked her if she would marry me and she said yes! We then went to celebrate with some of our friends and family!
