We met through mutual friends at a fun-run in Erie, CO. It was almost Halloween, and Patrick and I both agreed to join our friends at the Zombie Run. The purpose of the run was to outrun the zombies so you wouldn't get "infected." The second the run started, my shoe came untied. Patrick stayed with me as I tied my shoes while everyone else ran for dear life. We completed the entire run together. I joke that Patrick used me as a decoy because the zombies would go after me instead of him since I'm so much slower than he is. After the run, we grabbed a drink and he drove me home. The rest is history!

Patrick and I were visiting my family in Santa Barbara, CA. It was 7/7/17. A gorgeous, sunny day. We decided to go wine tasting at some of the local wineries. After too much wine, we wandered down to the beach to watch the sunset. As I was commenting on the colorful sunset, Patrick pulled out a stunning ring and got down on one knee. I was so surprised! I didn't expect it at all! But Patrick had been planning it for months, and had even asked my parents for permission on a previous family trip. It was the most perfect moment, and everything we had dreamed of.
