I heard about this beautiful incident- involving the daughter of Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم and her husband who was famed for his bravery. There was a deep love between the two. One day Ali (RA) noticed that his wife Fatimah (RA) using a 'Miswaak'. For those of you who don’t know a 'Miswaak', back in those days it was their version of today's toothbrushes. So, Ali(RA) feeling jealous, recited a poem he composed that touched her heart; قد فُزتَ يا عودَ الأَراكِ بثغْرِها ما خِْفتَ يا عودَ الأراكِ أراكا ولو كُنْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِ القتالِ قتلتُكَ ما فازَ منِّي يا سواكُ سواك "Fortunate are you oh stick of the Arrak (tree), how dare you! Aren't you afraid that I would see you? Had you been of the people that fight, I would have killed you! No one has been able to defeat me, Oh Miswaak, except for you!" سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّٰهِ May the Almighty bless our marriages with such love and mercy, Ameen.
