Our story began freshman year at Muhlenberg College during orientation week, when Zach and Kayleigh first met in a friend group. Zach couldn’t quite remember “Kayleigh,” so he gave her the nickname “Kay”, ironically, something no one had ever called her before, but it stuck. From weekend breakfasts spent gossiping about college life to watching sports together (a rare find for Zach), and even “Bachelor Nights” with Kayleigh and her roommates, they quickly became inseparable. They supported each other in everything they did—Zach on the baseball field and Kayleigh in dance performances. One of Kayleigh’s favorite moments was getting to watch Zach hit his first (and only) college home run. During COVID, they spent as much time together as possible and made the most of a unique time in life. When they returned to campus, they lived in a suite with a big group of friends and were together almost 24/7. That’s when their friendship officially turned into something more, though not without a little hesitation. When Kayleigh first asked Zach if he liked her, he panicked and said no… only to come back an hour and a half later to admit that he absolutely did. No one was surprised, they had all seen it coming. Junior year brought apartments on top of each other, which made spending time together easy. Twin XL beds were not ideal for sleepovers, leading to plenty of nights with Zach on an air mattress. After that, Kayleigh moved to Philadelphia for three years of physical therapy school while Zach finished his final year at Muhlenberg, taking on a year of long distance before finally reuniting in Philly. In Philadelphia, they built their first real home together, made new friends, started their careers, and grew even closer. After four amazing years of dating, they got engaged and began their next chapter. Their journey eventually brought them to Florida, where they’ve created a new home together. These days, you can find them relaxing by the pool, trying new recipes, and navigating Zach’s latest sourdough obsession (with Kayleigh proudly taking on the role of cleaning up after it). Looking back, it’s hard to believe how far they’ve come—from college beginnings to building a life together—and now, after six wonderful years, they can’t wait to celebrate the next chapter of their story with all of you.
