Brian served in my home ward in El Paso, TX as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I'd go out teaching investigators with him and his companions and always had a wonderful time! Once I left on my mission for California, we began writing back and forth. We slowly fell for each other through these exchanges. We met back up several months later in Utah and things just clicked! I knew he was the one when he showed up on my doorstep with a bouquet of roses and a baby on Valentine's Day!
After praying about the future of our relationship, Brian and I decided to take this to the temple. We both prayed and asked our Heavenly Father what direction we should go as a couple. I remember as we were standing together in the temple, he asked me what I was thinking. I told him that I wanted to be with him for eternity. He said he felt the same! We started planning for our future that afternoon!
My favorite place on BYU campus is the duck pond. The spring and summer time at the pond is especially exciting because there are baby ducks and it's all so precious. He brought food for a picnic and we duck watched. All of a sudden he was on one knee asking me to marry him! Of course I said yes. He is my best friend and soon will be my eternal companion.
