We met on a school retreat to the mountains in Southern California, but we didn't think much of each other until we both got involved in the same student ministry at school. After our first chat over coffee lasted over six hours, a rapidly-deepening friendship turned into two incredible years of dating (and counting!).
Over the course of the nearly two and a half years between our first date and our engagement, we had our fair share of ups and downs. As full-time students from opposite sides of the country, we spent significant stretches of time dating long-distance, and during the summers we often found ourselves continents apart as we followed God's call to Europe, Africa, and back to the U.S. Through every twist and turn, however, one thing has remained consistent: wherever we wander, we always wander back to one another. We can't wait to begin a life of wandering side-by-side.
On August 28th, 2020, we went out for an evening to celebrate two years of dating. The evening took us to five memorable locations from our time together, and in each location, a little piece of poetry turned up unexpectedly. At the fifth location--a rooftop where most of our early conversations took place--those pieces of poetry were brought together into a song that told the story of our relationship and ended with a very important question: "Will you marry me?"
