FAQs

Question

What does summer formal attire mean?

Answer

It means we want you to be comfortable in the heat! As we will be outside in late June we do expect it to be warm. We do not want anyone fainting! We want you to be comfortable while looking good. It is perfectly acceptable to wear an untucked shirt for example, or more of a dressy summer shirt and dress pants rather than wearing a typical suit. If you do want to wear a typical suit though, go for it! For Women, dresses of medium to long length are perfect! We would probably recommend a lighter and/or more breathable material for comfort in the heat though. That being said, wear something nice but comfy! We ask that Men and Women both don't wear any lighter shades of green as our bridal party will have agave green colors in their outfits. There will be yard games to play, so feel free to roll up your sleeves, loosen up your buttons, and even change your footwear and enjoy yourself without overheating!

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

No there will not. We will be having a dry wedding, but don't worry! We will have specialty lemonades, a shirley temple station, a coffee station and more! We also ask that no alcohol be brought to the wedding, as we will ask for you to leave it in your vehicle.

Question

Will you be having an unplugged ceremony?

Answer

Yes! We want you to enjoy the moment! Please do not take cellphones out during the ceremony. Our professional photographer and videographer will capture our special moments and we do not want those moments interrupted or harmed by cell phones being in the pictures and videos.

Question

Is the wedding outside?

Answer

Yes! We will be having the ceremony and cocktail hour outside. The reception will be held inside our venue.

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

No. Although we both love children and serve/work with children, they are unpredictable and can cause issues. So we will not be allowing children at any part of the wedding.

Question

Where is the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all at our venue, The Bates House. The ceremony will be held outside just to the left of the house. You will see it when you drive in.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We ask that everyone arrive at 2:30pm-2:45pm the latest. The ceremony will begin promptly at 3pm, and we don't want any distractions caused by cars driving in late.
